Four homes raided in drug bust

Escambia County sheriff's deputies and Pensacola police raided four
homes late Thursday, knocking out what officials describe as a large
    drug-trafficking operation.
Using the business AAA College Movers as a front, cocaine was
distributed throughout Escambia County, investigators believe.

After a six-month investigation, sheriff's narcotics agents dressed in SWAT gear descended about 10 p.m. on a house in the 200 block of Emerald Avenue.
About the same time, in the 4100 block of Navy Boulevard, Pensacola
police stormed an apartment they believe was used to store drugs.

Two other homes, one in the 700 block of Boxwood Drive and another in the 2200 block of Mallory Street, also were raided. But no arrests were made.

The Emerald Avenue house was wired with at least three cameras to view
the residence's grounds. Nevertheless, deputies surprised the people inside and arrested Kelvin D. Clemmons and Gillis J. Watson III, both of
    Pensacola.

Deputies found about six ounces of cocaine, estimated to have a street
value of between $15,000 and $20,000, said Sheriff's Office spokesman Glenn Austin.

This takes away a major artery that was distributing cocaine throughout the county, he said.

Investigators believe Clemmons used AAA College Movers as a front to transport and sell narcotics, Austin said.

We believe a lot of drugs were moved through the business, he said. (Clemmons) told investigators he used cocaine to support his moving business.

Clemmons, 36, was charged with three counts of trafficking cocaine more than 28 grams and one count of trafficking cocaine more than 200 grams.

Watson, 36, was charged with one count of trafficking cocaine more than 28 grams and two counts of selling cocaine.

During the Navy Boulevard apartment raid, police seized about 13 grams of cocaine - with an estimated street value of about $1,300 - and about $1,200 in cash, said Pensacola Police Narcotics Sgt. John Austin.

While police were searching the residence, a man who was later
identified as Tony G. McAllister of Pensacola knocked on the door and walked inside.

We found the 13 grams of cocaine in his pocket, Austin said.

The apartment likely was used as a stash house where dealers kept
narcotics and cash to avoid being detected by police, Austin said.

McAllister, 32, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Clemmons and Watson are being held in Escambia County Jail on $225,000
    and $80,000 bond, respectively.

McAllister also is being held at the Escambia County Jail on $40,620
    bond.”
